Lets not listen to negative people here and instead come up with a plan. Nothing will change unless we act upon it. I have seen these negative comments every time somebody come up with a plan for EB3-I. Unfortunately most of these negative comments are coming from EB2-I people.
Lets come up with action plan for EB3-I and we will send it upto Mr. President. I am sure they will listen to us someday. They are busy not deaf.

Thats right. I don't see any issues with EB1 or EB2 movement, For gods sake EB2 came to 2005, EB1 is current. It is funny when the other poster said we need to work for EB1 also(It is current, what else you want to do there?).
I feel IV has to concentrate on EB3 now. Period.
That should not be the case. It should just concentrate on EB3-I. Period Because that is the only category that has to wait for centruries to get any movement.

Agree with mostly what you have said. Question still remains what causes people not to contribute even 20$ now while in the past they have contributed 50 , 100 or even more. Just something to think about.
I disagree. Changes in laws do not happen overnight and any efforts that core is making cannot be made public all the time. If they can get thousands of people the benefit of moving to EAD etc. then I am sure they are working behind the scenes to get more favorable changes done when the time is right. I have faith in their ability.
Moreover since I am not actively volunteering in any activities the least I can do is contribute. So I call on everyone to contribute for your cause - none of us is doing anyone a favor by contributing. We are DIRECTLY favoring us by making a contribution.

Look man, I don't know who you are and what's your story. But I do know this. Giving a false impression to others and misleading others on this forum and on any other forum is not going to help. You seem to project that only you care for the issue of country-limits. I think the better description is, you only care for the removal of country limits till the day you get your green card. You do NOT want to remove country limits on EB beyond the date you receive the approval of your application. Giving a false impression to a few on this forum that temporarily removal of country limits will be easier than permanent removal of country limits is just WRONG.
After IV admin posted for the media interview few days back, I sent them an email expressing my willingness to speak with the press. I spoke with Vivek Wadhwa at length last week about this issue. Vivek Wadhwa article in Washington Post covers the issue of country limits where as his previous articles have not covered this issue.

Section 202 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) states that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual employment-based preference limits. This means a country with large population like India and a tiny country like Lichtenstein get same number of visa numbers. This system is designed to systematically discriminate people from India and China by preventing them from attaining employment visas. More research needs to be done whether this constitutes a violation of US Equal Employment Opportunity Law. We need to find out whether this constitutes discrimination by national origin. Called 3/14 the first time and was told that FP would be scheduled. Never heard so called again on 5/9 and this time was told to callback after 60 days from the initial call.
I spoke with one rep who said that they are processing "June 29th" applications so you have to wait for your "Biometrics Appointment". I am kinda lost on this one.
What is the best number to reach the right Customer Service department alongwith the options to reach a live person to speak with who can actually schedule the Biometrics Appointment.
Am a July 2nd Filer - Actual Application filed on Sep 10th.

my EAD is still pending. but no lud on EAD cases. just a soft LUD on I-140 on 7/13. Very wired !!

Hi All,
I may get an offer from a company that is small with limited funding. They are not willing to do my H1B and want me to use EAD. I wanted to keep my H1B valid, but the company will make me pay for it. And given that I will have to apply for extension soon, I will have to pay for it again. So monetarily, its not good for me.
I believe you are thinking you will only get the H1 extended with this new company till Mar 2010 and you will have to apply again.
When you apply for H1 with this new company, you can request for an extension for 3 yrs based on your approved I-140. Just go ahead and apply for H1 using AC21 with a copy of I-140 approval notice. You will get it for 3 more years....No need to use your EAD.

For those who got, need to remember the pain they went through and that of other's who are going through it now! This blackbox of Employment based Green Card process needs to be more fit towards the high-tech century when everything else is.

I came to us on H4 in 2007 and the got my H1B in 2008. I am not getting a job on H1 yet so i want to know that till when the H1B be valid as I am not genarating any salery and my consultant is not running my pay roll ?

Self-employment is possible only on 1099. If you're on W2, you're *not* self-employed. Pls see IRS guidelines
Here is DoL link. In the example, Mr. Smith owns LLC company, but still is considered Self-Employed.
