It's hard to tell in this particular photo but it looks like the majority of the frame is either shadow or dark green. The metering systems in these cameras tries to make everything "gray", or make really dark things lighter, or really light things darker. It works most of the time where there is a good mix of tones. However in this case since the majority of the frame is dark it may be trying to bring it up and as a result blow out some of the flower petals that are on the edge of the bright side.
You can check the meter on your camera very easily by doing a poor man's spot meter.
1. Get close enough to the yellow plant so that the flower fills the entire frame in your viewfinder. Press the shutter halfway down and note the meter reading. If your lens won't focus that close don't worry about it, you just need the aperture and shutter speed numbers.
2. Check your manual to find out how to use Exposure Lock. At this point, lock the exposure, move back, compose the image the way you want, and take the picture with the metering from #1. If everything is working, your flowers should be exposed correctly but all of those shadows in the back will probably be black with no detail.

Q-74 (04-15-2006): I had a pending RIR (EB-3) labor certification with priority date of October 2004. In November 2005, I filed PERM (EB-2) which was approved in February 2006. I filed I-140 (EB-2) right away. Now, my RIR was approved. I plan to file another I-140 based on RIR (EB-3). Can I carry over the priority date of October 2004 to EB-2? What should I do to carry over the October 2004 priority date?
A-74: The immigration regulation provides that when an alien has multiple "approved" I-140 petitions with different classifications, the alien can use the earliest priority date. This carry-over of the priority date is available regardless of difference in the occupational classifications, preference categories or employers. Unlike common misunderstanding, one cannot seek amendment of the approved I-140 petition to change the priority of a given petition. In your case, once your EB-2 I-140 petition is approved and the visa cut-off date for EB-2 for your country moves to October 2004, even if your EB-2 priority date is November 2005, you can file I-485/I-765/I-131. In filing I-485, you should attach EB-2 I-140 approval notice (original) as the underlying I-140 petition and submit a photocopy of the approved EB-3 I-140 approval notice as an evidence to prove the priority date of October 2004. Thus, EB-3 approval notice serves the sole purpose of proof of the priority date and nothing else. Once EB-3 approval notice is attached, the agency will pull out the EB-3 proceeding file to determine whether the EB-3 petition has been revoked for fraud or error. Unless such revocation is detected, the agency will keep processing your I-485, I-765, and I-131 based on the approved EB-2 I-140 petition and using the priority date of October 2004 for the purpose of determining availability of a visa number to approve I-485. This priority date transfer should not be confused with the rule of transfer of pending I-485 from one approved I-140 petition to another approved I-140 petition. Yes, i opened a new thread so that everybody can see that CIS does mostly work on cases according to 485 Receipt Date. Otherwise i can't justify my EAD approval. I filed 485 and AP on June 18th and got RNs 2 weeks later. But EAD was filed later on July 12th. I got the receipt number for EAD from the back of my cashed check but never got actual Receipt Notice. Today i got the email that card production has been ordered.
So if they have to approve an EAD filed in mid July, they must have gone with the 485 Receipt date. There is an LUD for our APs too for this Sunday. I'm happy that they are processing the cases in somewhat FIFO order. I was expecting EAD only 3-4months later since i filed it along with the July flood of applications.

Gary, they're all good. The sky and clouds in the first one are spectacular. You could lose that tree and all the scrub in the front and have a strong image with just the sky and those hills.

FP 3 weeks befor FP app-t, but mine EAD was ordered, as I've been informed by e-mail,
in a 4 days after FP was done.
So, even if Biometricals are not mandatory for EAD, but EAD Card has place for FP on it,
in some cases they(USCIS) may pretend that there are a requirements( depends from officer)
Does it have anything to do with how recently you travelled out of the country? or How recently you came into this country? My wife came to US only 6 months back and I am not sure if this has got to do anything with the whole biometrics thing?
It is probably just this IO who has a different intepretation of the rules.

This is correct as per my understanding. As soon as your GC is approved you will need AP to re-enter US. IO at POE will have the information about your approved GC. I do not think he will allow you to enter on H4 after the GC Approval.
This is just my understanding. Check with a attorney to get precise information.

You can stay here as your H1 is pending but you should not work. Then you are still Legal. This happened to many students in 04' when H1 ran out unexpectedly quick. As long as you do not work and H1 is pending i think you are legal. That is what finalized in 04'. Correct me if I am wrong.

It was a false positive and your x-ray confirmed it. Your doctor would have given the appropriate determination in the I-693 sealed envelope. If you still get a RFE, follow the instructions and go to the USCIS approved doctor near you.

How did you come up with $745? I-485 application fees were $325 + $70 fee for biometrics. That makes it $395 per application or $790 for two applications. Maybe your lawyer gave you incorrect advice about the fees??

The processing date listed is the received date of the oldest case that they have not adjudicated or pre-adjudicated yet (maybe due to some problem). It does not mean that cases filed after April 2007 are or will not be adjudicated.

All the written agreements are valid in most of the states. but you can argue on the terms of agreement. He cannot ask her to stay in the company for 4 years. If she works in that company for 1 year, her employer should recover all the money he spent on her.
The best way is to work there for 1 or 2 years and walk out without paying anything. Or just pay the filing fee and get out right away.
You are right Chris, last year few folks left the company and the company downsized as well. The only way to retain ppl and make them sweat is to hire H1's with the promise of GC who will be obliged to work.

You may port the PD as well as get 3 yrs extension based on previously approved I-140 regardless of employer as long as I-140 is not revoked.

I am looking for some serious help and advice here , I hate to see any non-immigrant in US in my circumstances .Here some information about it , My company has sponsored my work visa , soon I entered into they customs and Immigration there is some mistake with my paper work , and they charged me and later deported me .In the middle we came to know the company has sponsored some other people B/J visas for their own benefits and officers acted so racially .when i got deported they never issued my passport back , I keep on calling them now , they always say , They can't hear , some times they mention call after 5 mins , 1hr .I am so vexed with all they do , I felt so victim in this . Please advice me can i get my passport back, and my case is in pending appeal , before I got deported

...if ppl were sitting back and relaxing after seeing the first report on the USCIS website regarding the 485 numbers. But at least the starter of this thread is an exception to that.If the USCIS dozn't update that doc monthly just like they do with the visa bulletin then something is really fishy and they'd end up fooling us again like they always do.
BUT THIS TIME WE MUST FIGHT THIS. I really feel that we have a valid reason to.Count me in...I'm not sure how v shud start (class action lawsuit)...IV moderators any ideas/plans to ask for updated reports if the USCIS fails to provide the public with this info???
